Well deserved. It was a great experience to supervise you together with Pat Riddle, I enjoyed it and learnt a lot from it. Thank you for having the chance to work with you on your amazing research and your contributions to our lab!
For the few of you who have not met Katharina or heard about her research, here is a brief summary:
Katharina's research has been published in top venues an journals. Her first paper introduced the first method to identify and mitigate bias where no ground truth is available and was published at
ICDM.
She extended that then to a more difficult case where data is in split into multiple clusters and published the work at
PAKDD.
And finally she adapted the methods for data in the chemical space, publishing in the
Journal of Cheminformatics.
Beyond that, she was very collaborative in our lab, helping other students and postdocs succeed. To get an idea of her impact on our lab, just check the
full list of her publications.
Eight publications in three years (plus one outside of our lab) and counting, we expect to add a few more in the next months.
I am very happy that Katharina decided to stay in the lab for a bit longer! She is currently looking for exciting opportunities in academia in the future, so if you have anything coming up where you are looking for a candidate who does fantastic research, reach out to her, she would be a great addition to any lab!
Thanks Katharina!
